School, community and faith volunteer groups are essential to ReStore Chicago’s success. Every volunteer that greets a customer, processes a donation or makes a sale keeps usable goods out of landfills and redirects funds to help Habitat Chicago homebuyers build self-reliant futures. Multiply that impact by the efforts of your entire team and we are well on our way to a strong, healthy Chicago.

Volunteering In Action

Teams from all types of organizations, schools and faith communities have lent a hand in building a better city and environment for us all to share. We would love to have your group join us for a fun and unique way to leave your mark on the community.

ReStore volunteers are tasked with helping to create a positive experience for all shoppers and donors. Activities will vary day to day, but might include:

  • Sorting and processing donations

  • Taking inventory

  • Greeting and assisting customers

  • Stocking and arranging merchandise

  • Hitting the road with one of our drivers to collect donations

No retail experience is necessary to volunteer. We will provide onsite training and direction for volunteer groups to make sure you feel comfortable and confident.
