INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES

DIY – that’s the ReStore Chicago way. And it carries through to our volunteer opportunities, too!

Individual shifts at the ReStore are short, flexible, and certain to get your creativity flowing. So if have a jam-packed schedule or just want to volunteer for a few hours, this is the volunteer experience for you.

Volunteering in Action

Individual volunteer opportunities are available Tuesday through Sunday in three-hour shifts. Come for one quick shift or stack them up to make a whole day of it.

Volunteer activities vary day-to-day, but may include greeting customers, processing donations, refurbishing items, placing merchandise and picking up donations. We mean it when we say: every single task is critical as we work to build a more sustainable city and healthier environment.

The minimum age to volunteer at the ReStore is 14. Volunteers 14 and 15 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian and all volunteers under 18 must have a Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Let’s ReStore

All individual volunteers must attend a ReStore Chicago New Volunteer Orientation before they can register to volunteer. New Volunteer Orientations are generally held the first Wednesday and third Saturday of every month.

After you attend the ReStore New Volunteer Orientation, you’ll be able to view and register for all opportunities online with your volunteer account.

Head to our Volunteer Calendar to register for a New Volunteer Orientation or log in to your volunteer account to sign up for a volunteer day.
