INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES

DIY – that’s the ReStore Chicago way. And that includes our volunteers, too!

Individual shifts at the ReStore are short, flexible, and certain to get your creativity flowing. So, if you have a jam-packed schedule or just want to volunteer for a few hours, this is the volunteer experience for you.

Volunteering in Action

Individual volunteer opportunities are available Tuesday through Sunday in three-hour shifts. Come for one quick shift or stack them up to make a whole day of it.

Volunteer activities vary day-to-day, but may include greeting customers, processing donations, refurbishing items, placing merchandise, and picking up donations. We mean it when we say: every single task is critical as we work to build a more sustainable city and healthier environment.

The minimum age to volunteer at the ReStore is 14 years old. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian and all volunteers under 18 must bring a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.

Let’s ReStore

All individual volunteers must attend a ReStore Volunteer 101 before they can register to volunteer. Please note: this is different than the general New Volunteer Orientation.

After you’ve attended the ReStore Volunteer 101, you’ll be able to view and register for all upcoming ReStore opportunities online with your volunteer account.

Head to our Volunteer Calendar to register for a ReStore Volunteer 101 or log into your volunteer account to sign up for a volunteer day.
