HOMEBUYER UNIVERSITY (Feb-Mar)
Homebuyer University (February - March 2021)
Habitat Chicago’s public Homebuyer University will prepare you with the knowledge, tools, and resources to be able to successfully purchase your first home. This five-part course is taught by experts in the homebuying industry in a neutral, low-pressure setting. You will learn the steps of the homebuying process, identify your homeownership goals, create an action plan for financial, community and lending readiness, and by the end of the course, you will be ready to pursue your homeownership goals.
Homebuyer University is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to enroll in the course.
Classes will take place every Saturday over the course of five weeks:
February 13 | Launching Your Homebuying Journey (9:00 am – 11:30 am)
February 20 | Managing the Costs of Homeownership (9:00 am – 11:30 am)
February 27 | Knowing What the Lenders Know (9:00 am – 11:30 am)
March 6 | Maximizing Your Dollars (9:00 am – 11:30 am)
March 13 | Diving into Mortgages (9:00 am – 11:30 am)
The Homebuyer University course covers interconnected topics about the homebuying process and so it is important that students attend every class in the series. Each class will build on the material presented in previous classes, and you will interact with the curriculum both during and outside of class-time. By preparing for each class and working through your personalized action plans, you can get the most out of the program.
There is a $25 fee for enrollment, which will help cover course materials for all five classes. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid at the time of registration. You will also have the option of either picking up your course materials from our office in Pilsen or having them mailed to you for an additional $5.
