Whether your home is new, or just new to you, taking care of it can be difficult with all those nooks and crannies to look after. However, our energy efficiency and weatherization program provides all the tools you need to get started.

First, let's briefly discuss why you should be up to speed on energy efficiency and home weatherization. There are some important benefits to you, the homeowner, including:

  • Reduced heating and cooling costs

  • Improved air quality in the home

  • Improve life span of heating and cooling systems

  • Increased home resale value

  • More comfortable place to live

Our Program

We work with the West Pullman-based nonprofit, Sustainable Options for Urban Living, to provide free workshops on improving the efficiency of your home. You will leave with a game plan for getting and keeping your home in tip top shape, while saving you money in the process. Plus, every workshop attendee will receive an energy and weatherization kit.

Workshop Schedule

Workshops are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity to get in front of Chicago's winter weather, and learn what to do now to save yourself time and money later! No RSVP is required, but you may contact us for more information at info@habitatchicago.org or 312-563-0296.

See dates and logistic details on our events calendar.
