Our operating committees help us make decisions and implement activities that advance our mission. Active Committees

Associate Board: The Habitat Chicago Associate Board is a network for passionate young professionals to raise awareness and revenue for Habitat Chicago through social events, volunteer days, and fundraising efforts. Contact us for more information. 

 

Women Build: Seeking to help women homebuyers overcome the gendered barriers to homeownership, Women Build is an annual event that brings together hundreds of women to fund and advance the construction of Habitat homes. The Women Build Committee assists our staff in planning and executing this complex event. Committee members must have participated in at least one Women Build prior to joining. Contact us for more information.


Requirements

A minimum one-year commitment is required for each committee. You are expected to participate in monthly meetings as well as complete any projects that are assigned to you between meetings. It is also expected that you attend other Habitat Chicago events occurring throughout the year to maintain an understanding of our work and growth.

 

Please note that the recruitment period varies by committee. We encourage you to express interest at any time, but keep in mind there may not be an opening on your desired committee for up to 16 months. Once we’ve added you to the interest list, we will reach out to you at the appropriate time with an application. Space may be limited so be sure to respond promptly!

THE ASSOCIATE BOARD

WOMEN BUILD

Achieving housing stability is far more difficult for women to realize than for men in similar situations. Each year, Chicago women come together for Women Build to help their fellow women overcome the gendered barriers to homeownership.
