The Resurrection Project

The Resurrection Project is a non-profit that provides a wide range of programs and services for target neighborhoods that include Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards. These programs and services include affordable housing, student housing, financial wellness programs, home purchasing programs, foreclosure prevention counseling, community organizing, and immigration services, as well as safety, health, and education programs.

UIC Law: Fair Housing Legal Support Center & Clinic

UIC Law's Fair Housing Legal Support Center & Clinic provides legal assistance to private or public organizations that seek to eliminate discriminatory housing practices. The clinic also represents clients in the Chicago metropolitan area who have been denied housing, because of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, familial status, marital status, age, source of income, sexual orientation, and other protected classes.

USDA: Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants

This national home repair program provides loans to low income homeowners for repairs and/or modifications to improve the safety and utility of their homes. This program also provides grants to low income seniors to remove health and safety hazards from their residences. Homes must be located in a designated rural area to be eligible for assistance.

VA: Home Improvement Grants

The following grants enable veterans to make home modifications to accommodate for disabilities connected to their military service or for disabilities resulting from aging. The first grant is the Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) Grant, the second grant is the Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant, and the third grant is the Special Home Adaptation (SHA) Grant.
