Giving Never Looked So Simple

When it comes to giving this holiday season, we’ll make it easy on you: here are five ways to give that fall lockstep with what you’ll already be doing. Read on to learn how you can be a hero to Chicago families in need through Workplace Giving Programs and Amazon Smile, or by making use of your used goods and technology at the Habitat office, Restore, or Cars for Homes.

United Way/Workplace Giving: If you make some of your year-end donations through your workplace giving or matching gift programs, don’t forget to designate your gift to Habitat for Humanity Chicago (EIN: 46-0494889). It’s an easy win for better housing opportunities in Chicago!

Amazon Smile: Let’s be honest - Amazon is your best friend when you need a last minute gift. You can easily multiply your purchase by shopping through smile.amazon.com and selecting Habitat for Humanity Chicago (EIN: 46-0494889) as your charity of choice, or by clicking here now. Rejoice in speedy delivery and knowing that a portion of your purchase will be donated to Habitat.

ReStore: Buying new furniture or remodeling just in time for the holidays? Why not save the landfills by giving your gently used home goods to ReStore as a tax-deductible donation? All proceeds from sales help Habitat programs in the Chicago area, including new home construction. Call (773) 539-6040 for more information.

Cars for Homes: Did you know that we accept all types of used vehicles as charitable, tax-deductible donations? If you’re upgrading or just clearing out room this season, go ahead and donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle at carsforhomes.org.

Tablets and Tech: So you think you’ll get new tech goodies for Christmas, huh? Consider donating your old, functioning tablet or flat screen TV to Habitat! You won’t miss it, and we’ll put it to great use helping our volunteers and construction programs grow.

Give Online: Last, but certainly not least – you can give directly by donating online. Use our online donation form and with just a few clicks, you can make affordable housing more accessible in Chicago.
