The Habitat Chicago Emerging Leaders Board is a network of passionate Chicagoans, ages 21 to 40, who raise awareness and revenue for Habitat Chicago through social events, volunteer days and fundraising efforts.

  • Between the ages of 21 and 40 and live or work in the city of Chicago?

Get Involved - Join the Emerging Leaders Board 


  • Access to Emerging Leaders networking events with professionals from various industries

  • The opportunity to meet and work alongside some of Chicago’s brightest young professionals

  • Access to Habitat volunteer days exclusive to Emerging Leaders Board members 

  • The opportunity to grow and leverage your skills and network to make a real difference for Chicago families 


Your Role 

  • Attend monthly committee meetings with 1-3 hours of additional work each month

  • Plan and attend signature Emerging Leaders events 

  • Attend Emerging Leaders volunteer build days at the Habitat construction site

  • Commit to fundraising at least $1,000 on an annual basis via ticket sales, event sponsorships, and in-kind donations

  • Commit to minimum of 1 year of service 



  • Seats on the Emerging Leaders Board are limited! Interviews are held and seats are offered on an annual basis in August and September

Join the Emerging Leaders Host Committee

  • If there are no seats available on the Emerging Leaders Board, interested individuals can join the Emerging Leaders Host Committee, the stepping stone to Emerging Leaders membership! 

  • Host Committee members support the efforts of the Emerging Leaders Board by marketing Emerging Leaders events, selling event tickets, and securing event sponsorships and in-kind donations.
