Every year, Habitat for Humanity Chicago utilizes between six and 10 year-long AmeriCorps volunteers both in the office and on the construction site. The benefits to the organization and our Chicago community are countless, but the benefits for the service members themselves are pretty great, too!
We believe in the strength of our city, the self-reliance of homebuyers, and the power of a stable home. Last month, over 200 individuals came together to reflect on and invest in these core beliefs at our sixth annual Benefit Breakfast.
The Neighborhood Grants Initiative funds projects that bring neighbors together, improve the physical environment of a block, and develop pride and excitement for a neighborhood.
Earlier this month, Nadjia H celebrated the culmination of her time in the Affordable Homeownership Program by joining 150 Habitat Chicago supporters at her Home Dedication Ceremony in West Pullman.
Last month, Habitat Chicago’s Jen Parks and Lauren Youngblood traveled to Washington, D.C. for Habitat for Humanity’s annual legislative conference Habitat on the Hill. Jen and Lauren were among 350 Habitat representatives who attended the conference to advocate for stable, affordable housing.
